Marion County NORML is pleased to announce our participation in the 37th Annual Popcorn Festival. The parade this year is creativity. The Marion Popcorn Festival is a (3) three day celebration that features a kick off parade on the first evening and nationally known star entertainment each day! There will be over 300 concessionaires with arts and crafts, demonstrations, games, food and guaranteed fun for everyone.
Marion County NORML Chair Ed McCants speaks on the involvement with the City Parade.
McCants states: "Obviously every issue has a time and a place. My beloved cities reputation is no different. National organizations and Universities have supported our efforts to bringing safer medical alternatives to the community. Over all our float will include our NORML affiliation, but will be focused on the aspect of sports and wellness. My collegiate alumni team Banner Boy's played for awareness and charity towards recovery efforts nation wide, so our float will be dedicated to our more charitable aspects in light of children and families, and yes pop corn!
Information will be available for adults whom suffer qualifying conditions, or whom have children that meet the state requirements as well.
Northeast Ohio has already been discussing the medical incentives, "From what I've learned about it — how it's helping these people who are having seizures, and things like that — I'm just amazed," Eastlake's Mayor Morley says. "The law, through the legislation and all that, it's going to be what it is. I'm not going to say there won't be any hiccups, but we'll work through anything on our end."
