Many Ohio NORML members have testified before The Ohio Medical Marijuana Task Force and attended Town Hall meetings throughout the state regarding the medical marijuana bill, which may or may not be introduced by our state representatives in the near future.
There are also various medical marijuana initiatives underway in our state with great promise of both solid representation and financing. Whatever the outcome of these efforts, it is important that we make our voices heard by our representatives. Ohio NORML is always the organization contacted by the Ohio media whenever marijuana is the topic of discussion, so it is important that we are the collective voice of the cannabis patient and consumer.
If you would like to help, the most important thing you can do is contact your State Representative and State Senator on a regular basis, get to know them and their views on the subject, and educate them on the benefits of cannabis and its many possible applications.
At this time, Gov. Kasich himself seems very unsympathetic to our mission, so to make a difference, we will need to focus on convincing enough lawmakers to support our cause. A simple way to help is to call or write your State Representative and State Senator’s district office every week.
You can find contact information for both the House & Senate by entering your zip code here: http://salsa3.salsalabs.com/o/51046/getLocal.jsp It is also helpful if you contact your federal lawmakers.
Finally, if you can join us at The Statehouse for Ohio NORML Lobby Day 2016, we can and will show the political establishment that cannabis patients and consumers deserve the freedom to grow and consume this plant. We are not stopping until cannabis is legalized, including home cultivation! Please join us or donate to our cause, contribute if you can by at least making a few phone calls each week to your elected officials.
